The Role
Legend is seeking a talented and motivated Legal Counsel to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract, reporting directly to our Associate General Counsel & Group Governance Lead. This role can be based in either London or St Helier, Jersey.
As a Legal Counsel, you will work closely with our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) department, providing crucial support on significant M&A transactions that will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic growth and objectives of the business. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative and experienced team, taking ownership of key transactions and contributing to the success of high-impact deals.
\n- Primary lead on a large M&A transaction in contemplation including: drafting relevant documentation, carrying out due diligence, resolving identified risks, project managing the transaction, partnering and liaising with relevant M&A, legal and other internal stakeholders and external advisors.
- Supporting on other M&A transactions in the pipeline.
- Supporting on the day to day review and negotiation of commercial contracts.
- Experience working on corporate M&A transactions as a solicitor/lawyer and being the primary lead on such transactions.
- 2-3 years post qualification experience as a solicitor/lawyer in a law firm and/or in-house role within corporate M&A.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, ability to draft and review legal documents, carry out legal due diligence, ability to communicate to non-legal stakeholders and collaborate effectively.
- 1st: Initial Interview with the Talent Partner (30 mins via Zoom)
- 2nd: Interview with our Associate General Counsel and General Counsel (1 hour video via Zoom)
