The Director of Consulting is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing consulting projects, teams, and client engagements. This position involves providing expert guidance to clients, leading consulting teams, and driving the successful delivery of consulting services. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of consulting methodologies, strong client relationship-building skills, and the ability to drive business growth.
\n- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their business needs, challenges, and objectives. Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
- Lead consulting engagements from initiation to completion, including project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and budget oversight. Ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet client expectations.
- Manage and mentor consulting teams, providing guidance, direction, and support. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting professional growth and development among team members.
- Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities and challenges, develop consulting strategies, and propose innovative solutions. Leverage industry knowledge and best practices to drive results.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing clients and potential clients. Contribute to business growth through successful client engagements, proposals, and relationship-building efforts.
- Manage project budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints.
- Ensure that consulting services meet quality standards and adhere to best practices. Implement processes for quality control, feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Risk Management: Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation plans. Proactively address issues and challenges to minimize project disruptions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in consulting. Share knowledge and insights with the consulting team to enhance capabilities.
- Prepare and deliver client presentations, reports, and recommendations. Communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven experience in consulting, with a track record of successful project management and client engagement
- Experience speaking at conferences, events and / or working with publications is required
- Experience partnering with internal sales teams to develop and customize client solutions
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills, exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary
- Strategic and big-picture thinking, with strong business acumen
