The Head of People will be a key strategic leader responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that align with our business goals. This role will oversee performance management, culture, and retention initiatives, ensuring that our organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent. The ideal candidate will have a background in private equity firms, a passion for education, and a proven track record of fostering a positive workplace culture.

- Lead cross-functional teams in identifying opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and operational efficiencies.
- Foster a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement to ensure the organization remains agile in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Provide guidance and support on HR best practices, compliance, and legal issues.
- Manage all HR functions, including compensation and benefits, employee relations, payroll, and compliance.
- Stay informed about legal and regulatory changes affecting the workplace, ensuring the firm's policies and practices remain in compliance.
- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Design and manage a comprehensive performance management system.
- Implement effective performance evaluation processes, including goal setting, feedback, and development plans.
- Identify and address performance gaps, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with our educational mission.
- Develop and execute initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Develop and execute a strategic talent acquisition plan to identify, attract, and hire top legal professionals, including attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
- Collaborate with practice group leaders and hiring managers to ensure alignment with the firm's strategic goals and client needs.
- Implement best practices for candidate evaluation, interviewing, and selection.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related matters.
- Address and resolve employee relations issues promptly and effectively.
- Promote a healthy and respectful workplace environment.
- Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
- Ensure that compensation practices are aligned with market trends and internal equity.
- Manage employee recognition and reward programs.
- Lead DEI initiatives and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- Develop and implement programs and policies to increase diversity at all levels of the organization.
- Work closely with internal DEI committees to drive awareness and action related to diversity and inclusion.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in SaaS (Software as a Service) companies is required.
- Experience in private equity firms is highly desirable.

- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective HR strategies.
