Our Cloud Platform team manages Fusion clusters for Lucidworks’ public cloud customers. As part of the Cloud Platform team, you will be key in our customers’ success in providing value to their customers through the power of search. We are looking for someone who can help move our cloud platform forward and make it easier to handle more and more customers through the power of automation.
About the Role
The Manager of Cloud Engineering will oversee the Cloud Operations Team, which is responsible for the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of production infrastructures for customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, to ensure the delivery of high-quality products to our customers that meet their needs. You will also be responsible for driving initiatives to improve the onboarding process for new customers, automating infrastructure, creating monitors and alerts, and developing tooling for team and company consumption. Additionally, you will lead efforts to achieve high uptime and ensure the reliability and performance of our managed customer environments.

- Drive innovation and automation in cloud operations to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products to customers
- Take ownership of Lucidworks' company-wide cloud-first initiative and streamline the onboarding process for new customers
- Oversee major projects, including automating infrastructure, creating monitors and alerts, and developing tooling for team and company consumption

- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with expertise in GCP, Azure, and/or AWS
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing cloud engineering teams
- Strong experience with containerization including Kubernetes
- Proven experience in managing large-scale distributed systems across multiple cloud environments
- Knowledge of JVM-based applications and garbage collection analysis
- Experience with SOLR, troubleshooting and shard and replica placement analysis, including impact on performance
- Experience with SaaS infrastructure and deployment models
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in high-impact, fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
