What the job can look like…
The Federal Sales Team Lead will be responsible for driving demand for Moodle Products and Services through conversations with key decision makers within both the Civilian and Defense Departments of the US Federal Government. This role will lead strategy development and execution within the Federal Sales Team while ensuring both the products and services branches of Moodle are informed, consented, and able to provide in their roles as part of the Federal Strategy. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales and Marketing, you will be responsible for executing our sales strategy, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and achieving ambitious revenue targets.
This role will leverage your expertise in SaaS sales to hunt for new prospects, negotiate complex deals, and close high-value contracts. The ability to understand prospect’s needs, articulate the value of our solutions, and navigate through the sales cycle with tenacity and finesse will be key to success. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving, and innovative environment.
With the pace of Moodle US, no two days will ever be the same! But most days will involve a mix of:
- Identify and target new business opportunities within the US Federal Government sector.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to penetrate the federal market and achieve revenue goals
- Stay informed about industry trends, government initiatives, and regulatory changes that impact the federal market.
- Lead the sales process for complex deals, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful outcomes.
- Navigate the unique challenges of the federal market, including understanding procurement regulations, contract vehicles, and compliance requirements.
- Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring alignment with company objectives and compliance with government requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer success, to deliver seamless solutions to government clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, procurement officers, and other stakeholders within government agencies.
- Regularly report on sales performance, market insights, and competitive intelligence to the Head of Sales and Marketing.
This role involves serving as the link between Moodle and the US Federal Government. This role will be needed at all times to represent Moodle to the US Government in the utmost professional manner.
We’d love to hear from you, especially if you can talk to us about your:
- Proven track record of success in selling SaaS solutions to the US Federal Government, with a focus on complex sales cycles and large contracts.
- Strong negotiation, hunting, and closing skills, with the ability to drive revenue growth in a competitive market.
- Deep understanding of federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence government stakeholders.
- Experience working with partners, integrators, and other third parties to deliver comprehensive solutions to government clients.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Insatiable Curiosity
- Ability and willingness to gain security clearance as needed.
You’ll sweep us off our feet if you:
- Have at least three - to - five years of work experience in management, customer service, business development or sales within the US Federal Marketplace.
- Have experience working in the Moodle LMS environment is highly desirable.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business Administration or equivalent is preferred, but not required.

Compensation
Salary range is $85,000-$100,000 depending on experience. This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonuses and commissions, with OTE = $170,000-$200,000.
