The Public Entity Litigation Division of the Nachawati Law Group (“NLG”) is looking for our next antitrust and consumer protection litigator. If you’re interested in representing governmental plaintiffs in headline-grabbing cases, handling complex and cutting-edge antitrust litigation, and helping our clients fight corporate malfeasance and fraud nationwide, then we want to talk to you. Past and current examples of our work include:
- Litigation against major social media platforms to remedy harm their products cause to children and young adults;
- Litigation against the makers, distributors, and retailers of opioid drugs for turbocharging the nation’s opioid epidemic;
- Litigation against the manufacturers of toxic PFAS chemicals for polluting rivers and watersheds nationwide;
- Litigation against the manufacturers of faulty or ineffective medical devices paid for with public funds;
- Litigation against foreign e-retailing websites over their fraudulent sales and data collection practices;
Responsibilities of our Antitrust and Consumer Protection Litigator
- Assisting partners in identifying potential antitrust issues and developing investigatory, regulatory, and litigation strategies regarding those issues.
- Proactively handling the nuts-and-bolts of complex antitrust and consumer cases on behalf of state, local, and other governmental entities, including case initiation, motion practice, legal research and drafting, oral argument, offensive and defensive discovery, witness management, depositions, settlement, and trial.
- Working with the managing partner, attorneys, and staff to complete large tasks on tight deadlines as a cohesive team.
- Adhering to the highest ethical standards and conducting yourself not just as an officer of the court, but as the legal representative of sovereign governments and elected officials.
- Proactively and effectively creating high-quality work product in a timely fashion with little oversight.
- Traveling occasionally as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications of our Antitrust and Consumer Protection Litigator
- J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school, and at least 3 years of relevant antitrust and/or consumer protection litigation experience.
- Admitted and in good standing to practice law in at least one State.
- Outstanding organizational, timekeeping, and communication skills.
- An inquisitive attitude and an eagerness to delve into complex, nuanced, and often unsettled areas of the law.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications of our Antitrust and Consumer Protection Litigator
- Experience representing federal, state, or other public entity clients strongly preferred.
- A background or education in business, economics, or related fields preferred.
Location
NLG is located in Dallas, TX, with satellite locations in Arlington, VA, Atlanta, GA, Minneapolis, MN, Albuquerque, NM, and Sioux Falls, SD. Remote/flex work options may be explored for the right candidate.
