Job Description

The Archives Producer fulfills requests for archives content (file footage) from NBC Affiliates, the NBC News Group, and NBC News Channel Foreign clients. In addition to archiving video searches, the Archives Producer is also responsible for providing NBC Affiliates with daily Today Show packages and will work with the NBC News Rights & Clearances unit to identify restricted content within those daily package offers.

The Archives Producer will work 6:00am – 3:00pm Tuesday through Saturday and will assist our News Desk on Saturday AM shift in turning content to Orbit. 

Job Duties:

  • Work with all NBC entities and News Channel clients to fulfill archive video requests as well as day-of content requests
  • Utilize various file sharing platforms to gather archive video
  • Clear any restricted videos with the NBC News Rights & Clearances unit with the proper language prior to fulfilment of an archive request
  • Follow and communicate Rights and Clearances restrictions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree - preferably in journalism or communications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience desired
  • Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Must be able to work flexible hours during major breaking news
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong editorial judgment and customer service skills
  • Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills

Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee's residence.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
