Job Description
NBCUniversal’s Enterprise Product Team builds products that provide essential capabilities to organizations throughout NBCUniversal. The team leverages deep relationships with our business engagement and engineering counterparts to build cohesive, end-to-end solutions for their clients or users. The product portfolio is aligned around critical NBCU functions such as Content/Title Management, Data & Analytics, Scheduling & Distribution, and Content Sales.
As a part of the Product team, you will serve as an expert on all products within your designated space. You will lead a group of product owners and specialists and guide this team to develop cross functional design and build of any current or new products within this space. You will execute on a strategic vision for your area and be a thoughtful and experienced leader, who is responsible for defining and prioritizing requirements and who can communicate our business partners’ strategic vision into a planned product roadmap. You will participate in large initiatives and SWAT teams that tackle major problems within the organization that turn into larger, more complex projects or initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for guiding team members, setting strategy and product deliverables and monitoring progress toward those goals
- Manage team of product owners/specialists; lead recruiting, hiring, and training of new employees
- Engage with multiple clients/business units/internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into product features and capabilities for internal development by our engineering partners
- Manage a team of local & remote Product Owners and Product Specialists focused on building out NBCUniversal’s Title and Metadata products and services and integrating them into our overall Content Supply Chain ecosystem
- Lead Product Discovery initiatives, define and maintain product roadmaps and product integration strategy balancing internal requirements with client requests/priorities
- Collaborate with system architects, engineering leads, design/UX and project managers to scope roadmaps, track progress, and work through development hurdles to deliver great products on time and within scope
- Provide consistent communication back to clients and stakeholders on development progress and product delivery timelines as well as conduct feature roadmap overviews periodically
- Create and present workflow, feature, and roadmap documentation to external and internal business partners where necessary
- Execute product demos and walk-throughs for client product teams and internal leadership
- Establish relationships with managers of other enterprise product verticals to ensure Title & Metadata product and services fit within the overall Content Supply Chain and to mitigate dependencies across teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Product Management or equivalent experience required
- Minimum 3-year experience in a role demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills
- Minimum 3-year experience in a role exhibiting excellent written and oral communications, effective interpersonal skills, project management, and strong formal presentation abilities
- Expertise in the Agile SDLC process, with a focus on scoping, roadmap planning, user story and acceptance criteria writing, and rollout management
- Experience managing a team
Desired Characteristics
- 2+ years of product management experience, gathering client requirements, writing product and/or technical specifications, working with development teams, and managing product roadmaps as well as product launches
- At least 3 years of direct client engagement experience
- Experience in leading solutioning and managing business deliverables in traditional and/or digital media content supply chains
- Experience in Television/Broadcast, Media, Technology, or related field
- Experience with using Jira or a similar system to track and maintain feature requirements and development progress
