Job Description
Come be a part of NBCUniversal Enterprise Cyber Security (NBCU ECS) and accelerate our security engineering by building systems, tools, and documentation for critical security systems using modern development and cloud development techniques!
This role is a part of the Cyber Security Core Cloud Engineering team [Enterprise Cyber Security’s Platform Engineering Team] and reports to the Platform Security Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for security technology that supports the entirety of NBCU’s enterprise. You'll actively lead in identifying key processes around the sustainability and availability of our security products, working to develop proactive approaches for support, deployment, and optimizations of security toolsets, and be regarded as an SME.
Responsibilities:
- Developing cloud-based applications, micro services, APIs, and interfaces in a public multi-cloud environment.
- Leverage and improve tooling for application security, configuration management, containerization, and secrets management with a DevSecOps agile approach.
- Work closely with service leads and vendors to address service interruptions, quality deficiencies, or other performance issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on operations.
- Assist junior engineers in planning, execution, and delivery, providing technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
- Provide documentation and resources to enable other technologists to leverage new tooling and software solutions.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with:
- Cloud Security platforms such as Wiz, Prisma Cloud, AWS Security Hub, etc
- Application Security platforms such as Snyk, Checkmarx, Veracode, etc
- Foundational knowledge of core services in at least one public cloud platform - multiple a plus! (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Mid-to-Advanced level knowledge of scripting in multiple languages, primarily Python
- Container management services such as Kubernetes and AWS ECS
- Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
- SIEM tools such as Splunk to collect, analyze, and correlate security events and logs
- CI/CD technologies such as GitHub Actions and AWS Codebuild
- Secrets management solutions such as Hashicorp Vault and AWS Secrets Manager

- A thirst for improvement and an inclination to thoughtfully challenge the status quo.
- Desire to try things and iterate on them, fail fast, and focus on functionality that matters.
- Ability to adapt Agile methodologies and applying them to engineering/development best practices.
- Demonstration of teamwork and ability to work independently.
