DevSecOps Engineer
Location: Remote Work

The CloudWorks Migration and Modernization Initiative focuses on establishing a shared services capability team to assist various businesses within the Customer segment in migrating their workloads to the cloud. Initially targeting Amazon Web Services (AWS), the initiative plans to expand to accommodate Google Cloud Platform(GCP), Microsoft Azure, and other cloud providers in the future.
The core objective is to modernize applications by leveraging cloud-native features to enhance performance, scalability, and operational efficiency, adhering to best practices. Unlike a simple ‘Lift and Shift’ migration, this approach ensures the applications are optimized for the cloud environment. Upon reaching the cutover phase, applications will be handed over to their respective owners within Optum.
The migration pod will then transition to the next application in the queue for modernization and migration. The initiative aims to sustain multiple pods operating concurrently to ensure continuous modernization and migration of applications across various cloud platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Implement security measures throughout the cloud migration process to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts to automate the
- deployment and management of cloud infrastructure.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines with integrated security checks to streamline the development and release processes.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address potential threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into all stages of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Troubleshoot and resolve security issues related to applications and cloud infrastructure.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of security procedures configurations, and best practices.
Mandatory Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps or related roles with a strong focus on cloud security.
- Proficiency in AWS with experience in designing and managing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for developing and managing cloud resources.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions, including integrating security checks into pipelines.
- In-depth knowledge of security best practices and frameworks
- (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO/IEC 27001).
- Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating security tasks.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with GCP and Azure cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and DLP.
- Experience in implementing and managing Zero-Trust architectures
- Certifications such as AWS
- Certified Security – Specialty,
- Certified Information Systems
- Security Professional (CISSP), or
- Certified Cloud Security
- Professional (CCSP).
