Job Description
Position Summary: Reporting directly to the People Partner, the People Advisor collaborates with the People Partner to provide guidance and support to both employees and team leaders across a diverse range of HR-related issues within their portfolio and business unit, supporting Montu’s aligned end-to-end people partnering model. This role encompasses supporting the People Partner with cyclical HR processes, providing general process and policy advice, supporting non-complex employee relations matters, supporting HR and portfolio projects/initiatives, and ensuring alignment with the people needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and team leaders within the relevant portfolio, providing guidance on performance management, leave management, employee relations, policy interpretation, and other HR-related matters.
- Support the People Partner and portfolio team leaders in setting objectives, conducting performance evaluations, and addressing performance, attraction and retention concerns within the portfolio
- Conduct meetings with stakeholders within the portfolio to cultivate collaborative relationships with front-line team leaders, fostering cooperation and commitment to people strategies and programs.
- Ensure compliance and consistency with Montu’s policies, legislation, and internal procedures in HR activities.
- Support the People Partner to identify and implement HR initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders to enhance performance aligned with organisational objectives, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Support People Partner with change management initiatives, including executing change management plans that may include analysis, communication, training and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Design, implement, and manage performance and disciplinary or development processes within the portfolio to support the business unit and People Partner, ensuring alignment with the business unit, organisation and people departmental goals, requirements, and policies.
- Participate actively in the development, implementation, and review of HR policies and procedures and wider People Team projects, aiming to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation.
- Collaborate with the People Operations team to process updates and changes to employees and departments, and implement new processes to support the business unit’s people needs or initiatives
- Provide coverage across portfolios where required, ensuring continuity of HR support and services.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in HR or equivalent coupled with 3-5 years experience at an HR Advisor level in a generalist role.
- Demonstrated expertise and comprehensive knowledge of HR legislation, policies, practices, and strategies. Proficient in applying and interpreting awards and industrial instruments. Skilled in supporting cyclical HR processes aligned with business procedures.
- Experience working from home in an HR capacity, including experience managing HR for both work from home and site-based teams.
- Experience in managing performance management and improvement processes, as well as handling employee relations cases.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with a track record of building robust relationships across the organisation.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis on customer service within HR, fostering a client-centric focus and positive reception of the HR team within the broader business.
- Strong technical acumen, including proficiency in operating within a paperless, centralised HR function using online collaboration tools and systems to deliver high-quality work and effective HR support
- Ability to adopt a flexible, pragmatic, and proactive approach to HR, demonstrating adaptability to dynamic situations.
- Highly organised, solutions-focused professional with a proactive and responsive attitude.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adeptly navigating high-growth phases and changes concurrently with the maturation of both the business and HR function.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to sites within the portfolio or for team offsites as necessary.
