Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have a choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

- Designing and developing scalable fraud prevention tools by building APIs and systems that integrate with internal teams and external vendors to detect and prevent fraud across Canva’s product suite.
- Enhancing payment fraud detection by implementing strategies to mitigate payment risks, such as BIN attacks, fraudulent transactions, and abuse of trials and subscriptions, protecting Canva’s revenue.
- Collaborating across teams, working closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to create a unified approach to fraud prevention that balances risk management with user experience.
- Automating fraud detection by building predictive models and automated systems to identify and prevent fraud, reducing manual intervention and improving overall efficiency.
- Supporting the growth of Canva's subscription model by developing and implementing fraud controls that ensure users honour their subscriptions and mitigate abuse of trials, education subscriptions, and other offers.

- You understand payments or transaction processing, and you’re eager to apply that knowledge to combat fraud.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment, are comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams and participate in pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- You have a solution-oriented mindset, capable of identifying potential risks, proposing scalable architectures, and balancing trade-offs to deliver efficient, effective fraud prevention solutions.
- You are an effective communicator, able to explain complex technical concepts to different audiences, including non-technical stakeholders, and advocate for best practices.
