The 1Password Test Experience (TestX) team helps our development team test and release the best possible software. Through hands-on testing, helping increase coverage of automated testing, and investigating and reproducing bugs and usability issues, our team plays a critical role in making 1Password the world's most-loved password manager.
We are looking for a Test Automation Developer to join the TestInfra squad, within TestX, to work with internal partners to ensure that our products deliver to meet our internal and external customer needs. This person helps promote an automation first mindset within the team to improve overall quality and velocity. They are responsible for ensuring our products function the way they are intended by providing support to develop test infrastructure, developing automated tests, and coaching developers to create and execute on various forms of automated testing, and solving complex issues. They work side by side with Test Automation Developers, and others to improve overall code quality and recommend opportunities for improvement.

\n- Demonstrated knowledge of programming languages such as Javascript, Typescript, Go, Rust, React, Kotlin and Swift.
- Familiarity with end to end automation frameworks/tools with experience on how to incorporate test automation in CI/CD pipeline. Experience with various levels of test types including unit, integration, functional and non-functional.
- Demonstrated knowledge of client-side web technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
- Experience with SQL queries including joins.
- Experience testing APIs (Required).
- Solid communication skills with experience in teaching others about test automation, including the ability to develop internal communications and training.
- Intermediate knowledge of software testing best practices.
- Familiarity with testing across multiple platforms including web, mobile, desktop, and browser extensions.
- Demonstrated experience building tests from scratch without an existing framework.
- Familiarity with third-party tools used by the 1Password service, such as Stripe, SCIM, Okta (or other enterprise identity providers), and tools like Gitlab and Docker.
- Develop, utilize, and improve automated testing frameworks. Continuously growing knowledge of testing types, tools, and technologies to resolve standard quality concerns.
- Drive implementation of effective automation strategies to ensure project deliverables with input from stakeholders. Contribute to the maintenance of automation framework and automated tests for existing and new scenarios.
- Utilize and implement multi layer test automation scripts for functional components supported, with some input from tech leads/staff to improve quality coverage. Integrate tests into CI pipeline, review and monitor test results.
- Track quality metrics and generate reports for discussion with stakeholders and leadership. Actively discuss metrics in the team and contribute towards continuous improvement on product quality and reliability.
- Support test triage, increase regression coverage, test performance, framework improvements, and improving test pipeline health.
- Support technical initiatives, OKRs, or projects with properly scoped milestones and deliverables.
- Contribute to discussions/ideas and share learnings with other team members.
USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $112,000 USD and $152,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $100,000 CAD and $136,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
