About the Role
As our Head of Finance, you will lead Payabli’s financial operations and work cross-functionally on high-impact projects. Reporting directly to the co-CEOs, you will lead strategic finance, FP&A, accounting, AP/AR, treasury, investor relations and other finance-related responsibilities. Initially, you will be a team of one, supported by an outsourced accounting firm, and then build out the finance function as we scale.
\n- Manage and track the financial health of the company - from unit economics to revenue and margin to cash flow and runway.
- Own the operating model, updating plan as needed and reporting against budget.
- Manage the outsourced accounting firm, oversee the monthly close, and weigh in on technical accounting matters from time to time.
- Run financial operations including payroll, sales commissions, bonuses, vendor and partner payments, bank accounts, corporate cards, expense reimbursements and equity matters.
- Manage the finance software stack which includes Rippling, Deel, Carta, and Quickbooks, and leverage other tools as needed to support the function and company as it scales.
- Work with co-CEOs on board meeting preparation and regular investor updates.
- Roll up your sleeves to get things done in a fast-moving, ever-changing startup environment and do whatever is required to make this the journey of a lifetime!
- Have 8+ years of work experience including a stop in investment banking or management consulting and time working at venture-backed startups (Payments and Fintech experience is a big plus!).
- Are a structured, curious, analytical, and investigative thinker who is comfortable bringing order to ambiguity and establishing processes.
- Are a self-starter who is resourceful and able to independently run work streams, and also willing to be scrappy and think of creative solutions.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with all types of people, influence stakeholders, and synthesize information quickly.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment where you will juggle many complex projects simultaneously.
- Have an innate sense of humility and intellectual honesty with an open mind for feedback.
- Experience in Payments is a big plus!
