Peerspace is hiring a Principal Software Engineer focused on the front-end stack (React, Redux, Next.js, Node, NGINX) to join our team. We are looking for people with a passion for building beautiful user experiences with high design fidelity. Responsibilities:
● Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive our complex web application
● Refine technologies and development practices that will be utilized across the product
● Provide technical leadership for an agile scrum team
● Partner with product and design to deliver features that meet technical, product, and design requirements
● Collaborate with the backend team as they define APIs and other services that support client applications
● Collaborate with mobile engineering to deliver an excellent cross-platform experience
● Ensure React and Next.js web applications are secure and performant by planning regular upgrades and partnering with Security and Infrastructure leadership
● Drive initiatives to continually improve standard web metrics
● Ship frequently - we develop in 2 week sprints that include retros focused on evolving and tuning our process
● Provide guidance on the implementation and maintenance of components in our internal component library
● Mentor and support front-end developers
● Contribute to our culture of improvement through code review meetings, writing technical documentation, and reviewing PRs for your teammates
Qualifications:
● Prior experience 10+ years in software development and 5+ years in a front-end focused role using React and micro front-ends
● Experience with optimizing front-end implementation for SEO
● Experience developing web caching strategies and use of CDN
● Experience with experimentation (such as A/B testing)
● You thrive in an open and collaborative environment.
● You like to share - you write code that is modular and extensible whenever possible and have a passion for mentoring your fellow engineers
● You love to ship - you can talk through examples of projects that you had end to end responsibility for.
● You want to go home every day knowing your work is valued and will materially impact the experience of Peerspace hosts and guests worldwide.

The annual salary range for this role is $200,000 to $220,000. The actual salary amount will vary depending on the applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities as well as internal equity and market data.
