JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State’s College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) is seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist to advance the college’s strategic initiatives and engage the broader community with its activities. This position will take a proactive approach by working with internal units to understand their priorities, resources, and goals, and connecting them to larger college and University goals. Then, with leadership and collaboration from the marketing and communications manager, the specialist will translate that information into actionable strategic communications plans, support their tactical execution, and make strategic adjustments to campaigns based on both quantitative and qualitative feedback. Additionally, the specialist will serve the college by: Supporting day-to-day operations by taking communications project requests and facilitating cross-unit collaborations and workflows Developing strategies that define and showcase the college's brand identity Leveraging marketing opportunities to enhance student recruiting, alumni engagement, and research promotion Contributing content to news and feature stories, as well as promotional items, such as fact sheets, newsletters, web pages, social media campaigns, and digital signage Ensuring all content and strategies adhere to and are informed by Penn State brand standards At IST, we are strongly committed to a diverse community and to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for faculty, staff and students of all races, genders, and backgrounds. This is a hybrid position that combines remote and on-campus work. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
