JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Human Resources is seeking detail-oriented and customer-focused individuals who will develop, plan, and implement a wide variety of human resources activities across multiple human resource functions within The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL). ARL is a Department of Defense (DoD) designated University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) that provides cutting-edge research and innovation to the U.S. Navy. The Human Resources functions include recruitment, hiring and retention; diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives; employee and labor relations; equal opportunity; organizational development; talent management; total rewards and compensation; position management; and compliance monitoring. These positions will counsel full-time and part-time employees, as well as management on policies and procedures; initiate and/or respond to inquiries such as performance concerns; analyze data and prepare reports; provide unit representation on various committees; lead special projects; make recommendations for process improvements within the unit and work with the ARL Office of General Counsel to implement new and/or continuing legal requirements or initiatives. The Professional level requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional experience and/or education are required for higher level positions. This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work, with on-site location in State College PA.
