JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State York is seeking a motivated and creative part-time Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team. This position will collaborate with faculty and staff to complete a variety of communication projects. The role involves creating compelling content, managing communications with key stakeholders, and supporting various campus activities. This is an on-campus position with the potential for a hybrid and/or flexible schedule. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. Job Duties: Develop and create content for the campus website, news releases, social media platforms, electronic newsletters, and other communication channels. Capture and edit photographs and videos to enhance our digital presence. Attend and support campus events and serve on campus committees as needed. Assist in creating marketing and communications materials to promote Penn State York’s programs and achievements. Build and maintain strong working relationships across the campus community. Ensure all communications are accurate, timely, and engaging, meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects effectively. Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher plus one to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience with social media, photography, video creation and editing, and the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Strong writing, editing, research, and interviewing skills. Ability to work with diverse audiences and build collaborative relationships. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
