JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Geosciences at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Position, available starting December 2024. The Postdoctoral Scholar will join a Penn State-UC Riverside team investigating the Paleocene-Eocene Climate Maximum. The Postdoctoral Scholar will analyze natural samples over the event and work with colleagues to apply a range of modeling tools to the interpretation of the data. The candidate for this position should have: A strong working knowledge of isotopic geochemistry, including thermal ionization mass spectrometry and the use of isotopic double spikes. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience with the analysis of metal isotopes and quantitative data analysis. Must have a Ph.D. in geochemistry or geology. Candidates must have demonstrated effective writing skills in high-quality publications. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work under the primary supervision of Matthew Fantle.
