JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Pennsylvania State University and Financial Information Systems are seeking a Summer Intern to assist in the implementation of a new Budget Tool system. Primary position duties include working with the University Budget Office functional team and Financial Information Systems technical team to validate financial data integrations between existing Penn State ERP systems and the new budget tool platform, understanding and analyzing the budget creation and updating process in the new system and assisting the teams in other tasks as needed. We aim to identify a student who is interested in learning and applying their knowledge within a professional setting. Flexible Work Arrangements The position offers flexible hybrid work arrangements, with the expectation to be onsite at least 3 days a week. Position Summary Internships during the summer are expected to be 10-week/40 hours per week positions. Interns will be considered part-time employees and paid $18 per hour. Expected Competencies – Experience, Knowledge, and Skills The preferred candidate will possess: A desire to learn about budgeting and financial management in higher education Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Products (including Excel and Word) Knowledge and experience with SQL and/or other data reporting tools preferred Resourcefulness in managing multiple tasks Ability to communicate clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing, strong organizational skill Accountability, attention to detail, and a proven commitment to customer service Requirements to express an interest Please note that a resume and cover letter are required as part of this application.
