Position Summary:
The Manager of Sales Engineering at Perforce is a ‘player-coach’ role that combines leadership, technical proficiency, and strategic planning to drive sales performance and customer satisfaction. The Manager of Sales Engineering will ensure that the sales engineering team provide exceptional technical support to the sales team and effectively address customer needs. They bring extensive experience which enables them to address and resolve complex technical issues and challenges during the sales process.
The individual in this role will maintain a deep understanding of the products, services, and technology that they support. The Manager of Sales Engineering remains up to date on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies. They leverage professional insights and align them with the organization's overarching goals.
This position will support our Perforce Static Analysis Tools (Klocwork and Helix QAC).
Klocwork:
Klocwork is one of the most accurate static code analyzers and trusted SAST tools for C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and Kotlin programming languages. It's a modern, Agile static code analyzer that scales to projects of any size and works effectively within the DevOps cycle.
Helix QAC:
Helix QAC is one of the most accurate static code analysis tools for C and C++ programming languages. The tool checks code for errors as it’s being developed to ensure quality and compliance. It’s trusted by customers in highly-regulated and quality-critical industries such as automotive, med tech, and aerospace and defense.
\n- Directly manages and technically guides/coaches sales engineers on the team.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
- Provides pre-sales technical support to partners and customers in a professional manner and support team members to do the same.
- Conducts product demonstrations and address technical and architectural issues.
- Ensures products functions according to specifications and customer use scenario.
- Understands customer goals and challenges, map solutions to customer needs.
- Architect and design for complex enterprise deployments
- Communicates product feedback, new requirements, and competitive intelligence from the field to product management/engineering.
- Lead customer engagement and community evangelism programs, present and speak at conferences, seminars, and webinars.
- Provides technical guidance including verbal and written response to inquiries concerning products, usage, and best practices.
- Ensures regional partners knowledge is current regarding new product releases, new product features, delivery schedules and competitor offerings.
- Provides occasional customization and integration services.
- Builds influential connections with contacts outside of the organization to further the position of Perforce within the market.
- Contributes to the organization's broader strategic vision.
- Travel as required.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field is preferred.
- Experience managing a team or leading a team.
- Extensive experience in a technical pre-sales or consulting role
- Experience conducting demonstrations or presentations.
- Ability to understand pertinent technical questions related to products and applications.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Read, interpret, and perform software development activities in C/C++, Java, C#
- Hands on experience with static code analysis solutions (e.g. Klocwork, QAC, Parasoft or Coverity)
- Excellent knowledge of C/C++ /Java/C# software development processes and tools.
- Administration level experience with Linux and Windows.
- Experience with continuous integration, DevOps automation tools, automated testing.
