Position Overview
The IT Receiving and Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for leading the development, implementation and administration of the purchasing, receiving, and inventory systems. This role will be responsible for managing the procurement process and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of supply chain management. This position operates independently and efficiently to meet the operational and financial needs of the company.
Responsibilities
- Support and promote the mission, values and principles of Powernet.
- Develop and implement methods and systems for improving operational efficiencies for the Purchasing function, this will include the procurement of all hardware and licenses for customers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine purchasing needs and specifications.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions.
- Track and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and cost, and address any performance concerns.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier contracts, pricing, and terms.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new procurement strategies to drive continuous improvement.
- Collect and analyze purchasing data, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and potential risks.
- Orders all equipment for internal employees, and new hires
- Ensure Vendor performance and manages Vendor transactions relating to delivery, and service.
- Identify sourcing opportunities, service improvements and product standardization consistent with the goals of meeting the client’s expectations.
- Manage vendor relationships to obtain the best pricing and service, specific to the customers technical requirement.
- Track orders from creation through receipt of goods and report progress to project manager.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- 2+ years experience with purchasing and receiving IT equipment
- Proven experience in procurement, preferably in a similar role.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong knowledge of procurement software.
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with a variety of vendors, colleagues, and management in a professional manner.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong administrative skills.
- High degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity.
