Job Description
The Manager, Data Engineering is a player-coach role, ideal for the candidate who wants some managerial responsibility, while also keeping their development skills sharp. This role is responsible for contributing to and enforcing best practices and team standards of data warehouse design, architecture, and coding within Privia’s data ecosystem, as well as people management of engineering team members. The Manager, Data Engineering works with other Product Engineering leaders to ensure the success of key projects and products in production and serves as a technical liaison to other technical teams across the organization.
Primary Job Duties:
Oversight, mentorship, and management of members of the Data Engineering team, including onboarding, performance management, reviews and people management functions
Analyze bugs and iterate on process when necessary to fix and prevent occurrences in the future
Provide hands on guidance and subject matter expertise to members of the team including: data modeling, database design, optimization, troubleshooting, CI/CD with a focus on Data Quality
Collaborate with other Product Engineering teams including product, platform and operations
Participate in discussions as a member of the leadership team around product direction, team process, and strategy
Oversee and contribute to the full Software Development Life Cycle for multiple initiatives and projects at a time
Develop and enhance multiple ETL pipelines, keeping long-term impacts in mind
Deliver timely, well written, well designed, testable, efficient code
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a technical capacity within the healthcare space
1+ years experience working in Snowflake
1+ years experience working in Python
1+ year of experience leading or managing engineers or technical staff
Experience working with dbt or similar product (preferred)
Experience working with FiveTran or similar data movement platform (preferred)
Experience working with GitLab or similar tool on a multi-environment platform
Understanding of test driven development and agile methodologies
Experience working with APIs
Experience in a cloud based platform - (GCP preferred)
A track record of shipping quality software
Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations

Ability to work collaboratively on a multi-location, cross-functional team with a wide range of experience levels with onshore and offshore teams
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

The salary range for this role is $116,000-$145,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus targeted at 15% and restricted stock units. The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.
