Procore is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager, Proposal Team.  In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs and Security Questionnaires.  This role requires excellent leadership, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects as well as individual teammates in a fast-paced environment.

The Proposal Team includes Proposal Managers, Technical Writers and a Content Library Manager, with a great partnership with Security & Compliance SE Overlays.  The Proposal Team resides in the Solutions Engineering Organization at Procore and strives towards shortlisted percentages, overall ARR contribution and CSAT scores which highlights the influence the team brings to Opportunities.

Successful candidates have experience managing a Proposal Team with prior experience in writing, editing and managing RFxs across a variety of industries, including government (state, local, federal), education, healthcare and construction.

This role will report to our Director of Global Sales Acceleration and has the opportunity to work remotely from any North American location. We are looking for someone to join our team immediately.

What you’ll do:

The Proposal Team currently has three specialties : Content Management, Proposal Management, and Technical Writing.  This role will require the Proposal Team Manager to manage resources, schedules, and quality of deliverables to ensure efficient workflow and high performance of the team.  Additionally, it will require that the leader to advocate, empower and enable the team throughout these areas : 

  • Content Management : Create and maintain a content library update process to ensure the database is trusted and widely accepted; Create and maintain a localization and translation strategy to support Procore’s global prospects and customers; Redefine the Vendor Registration process and responsibilities throughout Procore for a more streamlined approach.

  • Proposal Management : Lead the entire proposal process, from identifying opportunities to submitting the final proposal; Create a workload management system to balance workload and better predict intake; Review and analyze RFx requirements and ensure all responses are compliant and competitive; Create and facilitate case-specific proposal response strategies, tasks list, and work plan that are repeatable; Maintain and further develop high-quality proposal deliverables; Ensure full compliance to RFP, outline, checklist, and proposal milestones; Achieve 100% on-time submission rate for RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and Security Questionnaires.

  • Technical Writing : Stay up-to-date on the current product roadmap to develop content reflecting insight into the current context and relevant competitors; Up-level the competitive differentiation of the company’s strategies for proposal content; Incorporate value drivers to enhance the technical responses; Create and maintain segment and regional-based responses to better resonate with the appropriate audience.  

  • Leadership : Evaluate the shortlisted rates, closed-won rates, and closed-won revenue for the program; Constantly innovate on how we approach the RFx process for efficiency and clarity, including instituting and evolving best practices and processes for roles and responsibilities for various stakeholders; Partner closely with various internal departments (i.e. Channel Partners, Deal Desk, Legal, Professional Services, Sales, etc.) as a strong working relationship is required for a proposal process to be run effectively; Partner with Public Sector Sales and Channel Partner teams to develop and strengthen our program and positioning; Provide training and mentorship to team members to develop their skills and knowledge in proposal development.  Additionally, provide enablement across various departments for a more cohesive proposal partnership throughout the Sales Organization.

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of experience successfully managing a Proposals Team required.

  • 2+ years of experience working with Public Sector customers including SLED and Federal, and demonstrated success in working with partners and teaming  in proposal response.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of RFx requirements and proposal processes.

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.  Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to deliver results that are clear, accurate, technically correct, and achieve messaging objectives.  Professionally communicate with all levels of personnel within the organization.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Software as a Service and Information Technology.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range $113,560 - $156,145. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
