Pure Power Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Owners Engineering group, specializing in owners engineering, development engineering and quality assurance to provide Nationwide engineering services for investors, owners and financiers of commercial and utility scale solar PV and energy storage projects. This person will possess a wide range of knowledge & experience, in the development, design, installation, & operation of commercial and utility scale solar PV & energy storage systems.

PPEs Owners Engineering (OE) team provides engineering support for investors, owners, and financiers of commercial and utility scale solar + storage projects. Our owner's engineering team ensures client success & maximum profitability by being a trusted advisor in technical risk management and delivery support throughout project development, construction, and operation.

Review & quality assurance (primary responsibilities)
- Conduct technical due diligence on designs by third party EORs, as well as projects designed in-house with Pure Power.
- Review drawings, reports, RFIs, submittals, & contracts and issue comments to customers.
- Technology evaluation and risk assessment.
- Create reports of findings with photos, descriptions, severity, and recommendations.
- Work as a consultant who assesses technical and financial risk for our customer’s projects.
- Work with the installers/contractors to ensure they understand the problems and solutions to the issues you identified.
- Providing background research on technical questions both for internal use and for clients.
Energy Modeling & Validation:
- Generate PVsyst models & evaluate 3rd party models, performance guarantee calculations, climate adjusted actual vs expected, etc.
- Gathering actual performance data, filtering it, and performing a wide array of analysis including PR, ASTM capacity tests, and climate adjusted actual vs expected.
Development Engineering
- Planning, conceptual designs, interconnection, equipment selection, and energy models.
Field Engineering (less than 5% of time)
- Conduct on-site visual inspections for workmanship, code compliance, constructability, and best practices.
- Construction monitoring site visits, reporting on QC issues and overall progress of construction vs schedule.
Leadership & Subject Matter Expert
- Elevate the technical capabilities of the organization.
- Contribute to a centralized knowledge base for others in the company to use.
- Develop training programs such as best practices, troubleshooting procedures, and equipment use.
- Mastery of the NEC and other codes and standards applicable to solar and energy storage systems.
- Create standardized forms the engineers will use in the field. Create methods to digitize all forms, so that they can be quickly turned into a deliverable report.
- Mastery of the National Electrical Code as applicable to solar and energy storage systems.
- Technology evaluation and risk assessment.
- Communication – Ability to be a point of contact for client(s) projects. Manage relationships with project stakeholders, including project owner & investors, off-takers, equipment vendors, etc.
- Execution of work – Manage the parallel execution of multiple projects in various stages

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineer or a similar discipline.
- Experience in commercial and utility scale solar PV. Experience with energy storage a plus.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD & PVsyst. Knowledge of SKM and Etap preferred.
- Able to take highly technical issues and communicate them in a manner that can be understood by non-technical clients.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- 2+ years’ experience in solar engineering and PV Industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS in electrical engineering, or other related discipline
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certificate
- Professional engineering (PE) license
- Medium Voltage engineering experience.
- Experience designing energy storage systems
- Hands on experience commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting solar PV systems.

Salary Range
$90,000-$118,000 Annually
