It is a very exciting time of growth for our Customer Excellence team, and we are currently hiring an Azure Data Engineer to provide technical leadership for our assessments team and customers.
This role can be located anywhere in the United States, but we would prefer Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Chicago, Denver, Phoenix or Tampa.
What will my role entail?
As an Azure Data Engineer, you will be joining our growing Program Motions team to deliver Azure data solutions that meet our clients’ business needs. In this role, you will work closely with our dedicated team of technical experts to develop solutions to our clients' business challenges. Collaborating with this team, you will work with clients on shorter term projects (On-Ramp to Azure Data – ORTAD) to instantiate Azure data platforms, contribute to design sessions, labs, and client workshops. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure data and on-prem data architecture with the aim of helping our clients to design, plan and execute their business solutions.

- Experience building data pipelines to operationalize end-to-end solutions and experience in data analytics and data mining with proven quantitative orientation
- Experience working with metadata driven data integration
- Experience working on complex reporting requirements, large, complex data sets, and various reporting tools such as Power BI and proven database modernization solutions
- A proven track record of using Dimensional Modeling and the use of a robust star schema in support of reporting requirements
- Ability to deliver high-quality reporting metrics to customers and executives and judge data results as valid and accurate
- Database/Server, Azure Synapse, Dedicated/Serverless, Azure Data Lake Storage, Medallion Lakehouse Architecture, Azure Blob Storage, and 3rd party data sources experience.
- Azure DevOps, creating Repos, Pipelines, Boards and Azure PaaS Services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Functions, Push Notifications, API Management, Azure Key Vault experience.
- Experience with RBAC and Row Level Security strategies.
- Deep understanding of common data store technologies (SQL) and experience with scripting languages, such as SQL, .NET, Python, Scala, PowerShell and shell.
- Solid understanding of data governance, creating and using data dictionaries and working with database metadata as an asset in understanding source data.
- A credible, professional presence and ability to develop productive customer and team relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving, analytical, time management, and organizational skills
- Previous IT consulting experience

- Over four years of experience with IT operations
- Experience with the D365 Common Data Model, Dataverse and Synapse Link as sources for data warehouse structures.
- Experience building advanced analytics (including machine learning) solutions.
- Experience in leveraging Azure Databricks (Unity Catalog) / Azure Cognitive Services solutions.
- Experience configuring Microsoft Fabric and the use of OneLake in a client environment.
- Experience with Automation and Infrastructure as Code concepts using tooling such as ARM Templates, Bison, Terraform, Ansible, etc.
- Experience with manipulating RESTful APIs to programmatically automate manual tasks.
- A proven track record working with and developing in C#, DMX, DAX, MDX, SQL, T-SQL, Java, Scala, Python, PowerShell, R.
- Microsoft Azure Certifications related to Data and Analytics (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate DP-200/201, and/or 70-764, 70-767, 70-768, and 70-778)
