About the Team and Role:
Quora is a remote-first company with international revenue and a worldwide user base. Our Finance Department, consisting of Accounting, FP&A, and Tax, is looking for an experienced Accountant - Payables GL and Taxes to support further international growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the trajectory of both our department and the company as a whole. Please note, this is a fixed-term contract position.
As a seasoned accounting professional, you'll bring extensive accounts payable expertise to our fast-growing environment. Your role will involve managing payments to suppliers and creditors, processing vendor invoices, and meticulously recording short-term debts for Quora India. We're seeking someone with a drive for excellence, enthusiasm, and an unwavering attention to detail to excel in this pivotal position.
This is a 1-year contract position with opportunity for renewal.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) functions, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, staff claims/ credit card claims, TDS rate application, and vendor query resolution.
Obtain necessary approvals for transactions, maintaining strict adherence to company protocols and policies
Oversee payment processes (including foreign remittance payments, 15CA/CB coordination)via JPMC portal and meticulously apply payments in the ERP system.
Manage activation/ deactivation of Corporate Credit cards and maintain the credit card statement to books reco
Month closing
Perform month end transactions like Bank/Intercompany recon, prepaid , depreciation & forex run, month end accruals, schedules, allocations etc
Prepare month end reporting pack as per USGAAP & IGAAP and profit recon between USGAAP vs IGAAP
Tax & compliances
Sharing Inputs with tax consultants, resolving queries, level 1 review of tax deliverables, payment of taxes
Oversee secretarial/ FEMA compliances like form MSME 1, ECB2 etc
Audit
Preparation of audit schedules and audit coordination
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to be available for meetings and impromptu communication during some US Hours
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business
3+ years of relevant accounting experience
Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to lead and drive complex initiatives
Attention to detail, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Strong Excel and data management skills along with Technical Accounting knowledge/proficiency
Preferred Requirements:
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations or equivalent
Prior consumer internet experience
