The OpenStack Solutions Architect is the front-line expert at working with Rackspace’s customers, sales teams, solutions engineers, and product development/management groups. The candidate that will fit best into a OpenStack Solutions Architect role will have extensive experience in architecture and design and development of business applications utilizing Kubernetes and/or OpenStack infrastructure.

· Requires 5+ years of solution architecture experience or specialty domain experience with a proven track record
· Strong knowledge of the core OpenStack or Kubernetes projects
· Experience with sizing and optimizing the hardware required to run the various OpenStack services of Nova, Swift, Cinder, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Ceph, Heat, and other core services and/or experience with Kubernetes architecture and configuration best practices and guidelines
· Familiarity with or a desire to learn components such as Helm, ISTIO, Prometheus, and other Kubernetes services.
· Strong understanding of the DevOps concepts for CI/CD, configuration management, orchestration, etc.
· Familiarity with programming and architectural frameworks; experience with Python and/or OpenShift is ideal
· Any of the following industry certifications are a plus: Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE, MCSE, MCSA, MCITP, CCNA, CKA, CKAD, OpenStack
· Ability to travel approximately 25-50%
