Windows Systems Engineer II-IN
Job Description: -
In this role you will:
• Be responsible to maintain the SCOM 2019 infrastructure.
• Be responsible to maintain the SCOM Databases.
• Perform administrative tasks from the Operation Manager console
• Review and update SCOM console security, apply patches
• Work with project managers and peers to understand and solve challenging technical problems
• Identify the gaps and needs for infrastructure and other monitoring requirements.
• Implement automation to streamline workflow to minimize manual efforts.
• Be responsible for staying aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans.
• Be responsible for the development and implementation of hardware, software, and networking for monitoring systems.
• Ensure completeness and compatibility of the technical infrastructure to support system performance.
• Be responsible for keeping informed of the latest, relevant technologies.
• Follow and execute Rackspace change management by evaluating changes using RLA methods and develop MOPs for changes.
• Facilitate Root Cause Analysis sessions.

Required Qualifications:
• 3+ Experience on System Center operations Manager
• Knowledge of Windows systems (e.g. virtualization, networking, etc.)
• Hands on technical experience deploying and supporting MS SQL & monitoring in a large enterprise environment.
• Good working knowledge of scripting & automation.
• Data Analysis and reporting skills.
• Bachelor's degree, or relevant experience, in business or computer science.
• Some project management experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of clustering, SAN, and networking.
• Requires 2-3 years' experience as a System Engineer.
• Moderate technical knowledge in technology methodologies, design, and implementation.
• General analytical and design skills at multi-product/multi-environment level.
• Working knowledge of various database and software applications, and networking systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with the installation and administration of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2019
· Experience in application/network performance and availability monitoring.
· Experience using the Microsoft Windows PowerShell scripting engine to automate tasks with SCOM
· Experience with System Center Orchestrator.
· Experience major Microsoft technologies server operating systems, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server.
· Knowledge of server virtualization technologies, preferably VMware and Microsoft technologies.
· Good knowledge of DB queries.
· Knowledge of multiple processor systems, RAID hardware, SCSI attached, and storage area network solutions, preferably experience with HP and EMC hardware.
· Knowledge of data backup, replication, and encryption technologies.
· Knowledge of LAN/WAN network infrastructure technologies.
· Knowledge of HTTP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, SMTP, DNS, SSH, TELNET, SNMP
Role requirements:
• Excellent monitoring experience.
• Recent experience interacting with APIs via scripting or programming.
• Ability to automate and have good understanding of scripting and automation tools.
• Ability to embrace what our customers are looking for instead of pushing for more flash.
• Ability to document to a high standard.
• A firm understanding of PCI requirements and the auditing process.
• This person should be focused and proactive to think outside the box to meet customized requests requiring complex automation.
• Remain aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans and take action, as needed.
