The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of credit risk management best practices and a proven track record of strategy development and execution in the financial services industry.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: developing, implementing, and maintaining credit policies, procedures and strategies; conducting regular assessments of the credit risk environment; monitoring changes in credit risk, and providing recommendations to senior management; and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of credit risk management strategies with business objectives.

Most importantly, the Credit Risk team owns credit losses at Remote and is responsible for driving them to optimal levels and balancing it with high revenue growth.

Requirements:

  • Credit risk professional with 4+ years experience and proven performance
  • Prior experience with evaluation of credit risk vs revenue opportunity (risk/reward)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive successful actions and results
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Data driven communicator
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced, hyper-growth environment
  • Experience with a Fintech or start up company preferable
  • Writes and speaks fluent English
  • Experience working in all-remote or geographically distributed teams would be a plus
  • Experience working remotely is not required, but considered a plus

This person will be responsible for:

  • Forming and implementing tactical strategies that will reduce Remote’s credit risk losses and risk exposure levels
  • Working with product and engineering teams to automate credit risk interventions
  • Performing credit underwrites for large exposure accounts
  • Monitoring our credit risk at a portfolio level and assisting with the development of risk mitigation processes
  • Creating credit risk policies and standard operation procedures for risk-related activities
  • Reporting on credit risk losses against quarterly targets
  • Remote’s credit risk losses and driving them down as part of the Credit Risk team

The base salary range for this full-time position is $36,950 to $83,150. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.
