We’re looking for our new Senior Product Engineer! You’ll contribute across all layers of our Ruby on Rails application, the backbone of Hunter’s Web app, API, and website.
At Hunter, we work as a tight-knit team and rarely open new positions—this is a unique opportunity to join a thriving environment. You’ll join our Application team and work alongside Bart, Mark, Liliana, our skilled Rails developers, and Chris, our Product Designer.
We’ve created a work environment centered on autonomy, personal growth, and efficiency. Our fully remote setup prioritizes asynchronous communication and minimizes meetings, allowing you to focus on what truly matters and move the Product forward.
This position is open to candidates located in Europe exclusively (+/- 2 CET).
About the role
Our majestic monolith is built with Ruby on Rails, a framework we love for its productivity and simplicity. We embrace the Rails way while incorporating modern features like Turbo and StimulusJS. Therefore, we seek someone truly passionate about Rails and its ecosystem.
Hunter’s mission is to simplify outreach, from lead sourcing to their first reply, while delivering our users a seamless, delightful experience. Therefore, strong skills in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS are essential for this role.
With AI's growing role in development and user-facing features, familiarity with large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT or Claude will be highly valued.
Finally, we’re seeking a Product-minded engineer—someone who combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of user needs and contributes meaningfully to the product’s development and direction.
As part of a small, agile team, you’ll work on diverse projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and improving features for our Ruby on Rails Web application, across both front-end and back-end.
- Writing high-quality, maintainable code aligned with our internal standards.
- Taking ownership of your work with a high degree of autonomy, shaping future development efforts.
- Collaborating with other departments to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
In short, if you have extensive experience with Ruby on Rails, a knack for elegant problem-solving, and Product appetite, we’d love to hear from you!
