**While we list our openings in multiple locations, you only need to apply to one as they are remote.
Please note: This position can work a hybrid remote schedule, with some Portland in-office time needed occasionally, but remote the majority of time. Also, new hires are required to come to our home office in Perrysburg, OH for initial orientation and training for up to 2 weeks, paid.
Core Description: The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager to develop the production schedule, and maintaining quality assurance in accordance with project objectives and estimated labor budget. The Project Engineer will also assist PM to develop and implement work breakdown structures to ensure the established scope, schedule, and budget are met for all assigned projects across all functions.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO AS A PROJECT ENGINEER AT SIGMA:
- Assist with preparing program/project proposals
- Assist with preparing project change orders and/or corrective actions
- Consult with SME(s), or acts as SME, to ensure projects and/or programs meet existing and new regulatory requirements.
- Communicate and direct team project objectives, parameters, status, and outcomes to relevant stakeholders
- Work with PM and Supervisors on the requisition of resources to meet project objectives; reviewing the allocation of resources and approving reprioritization as necessary
- Coordinate with the Functional Managers/Supervisors to establish weekly Associate assignment schedules
- Work as part of a team with Supervisors, providing feedback to assist in coaching and developing associates on their assigned projects
- Always promoting safety in the workplace.
- Performs other functions, as needed.

Requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- EDUCATION: High school diploma, or equivalent, is required. A 2-year or 4-year degree is preferred.
- EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of experience in the electrical power distribution industry. Management may consider other education and/or work experience to be acceptable for appointment to this position.
- PERSONAL: Dependable transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance that meets our minimum requirements, able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check
- Computer literate – especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Willing to travel as needed, including overnight travel
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team, establishing and sustaining relationships with colleagues and employees at all levels in the company
- Strong technical skills
- Basic financial skills to make sound business decisions
- Ability to work during core work hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday-Friday – occasional weekend work may be required as duties demand
- Authorized to work in the United States.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to sit and utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
- Must have the physical ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing notes, and viewing a computer terminal; these activities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must have the physical ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, often in a group setting.
- Must have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
