Job Summary:
The Vice President, Paid Media, leads one of SmartBug’s strategic and fast-growing lines of business. This position is responsible for owning and driving our channel strategy and go-to-market plan including key partnerships and development and execution of our paid media services roadmap. This includes establishing SmartBug channel standards and exceeding benchmarks. You'll collaborate with our client strategists, developers, and creative teams to establish a best-in-class client experience and serve as the brand ambassador and thought leader for the paid media channel at SmartBug. This is a true player/coach role where you will help ensure the success of our clients, coach and mentor a talented, passionate team of paid media marketers, and help build and shape SmartBug’s paid media team. You will have a unique opportunity to put your signature on the growth and success of this line of business.
\n- Plan, lead, manage, and execute paid media line of business including customer experience, service offering, and talent profile
- Serve as an expert and creator of new and existing paid media services
- Provide subject matter expertise externally (client-facing) and internally
- Collaborate and work with the senior leadership team to grow company revenue and profitability while enhancing its operations processes, long-term sustainability, and market reputation
- Develop and maintain a strong company culture, employee growth path, and recruiting pipeline to provide the company a competitive advantage
- Ensure the successful delivery of paid media programs for all SmartBug clients, including client management, campaign/budget management, development of media plans, performance, reporting development, and optimization towards ROI-focused KPIs.
- Collaborate with sales and client services on the presentation of specific opportunities so that your expertise can ensure the best-fit products for SmartBug’s growth
- Identify and implement improvements to SmartBug’s internal processes as it relates to paid media (client delivery, best practices, team workflows, implementation of new tools, etc)
- Lead the development and expansion of SmartBug’s paid media service line; develop proactive recommendations (process, tools, platforms, skillsets) to expand team capabilities and agency growth
- Serve as the paid media thought leader – for both agency and clients – and grow SmartBug’s reputation in paid media to rival our inbound marketing leadership and build your brand by contributing to SmartBug’s blog, social media, or co-marketing activities including appropriate events, functions, and meetings.
- 10-15+ years of progressive paid media experience, across multiple industries and verticals
- Has experience managing large teams
- 7-10+ years of experience building teams, managing, and mentoring the next generation of paid media experts
- Must be a dynamic, charismatic leader who can be presence on sales calls, and be comfortable with senior executives
- Has an interest in developing people and bringing diverse experiences to draw from in meeting goals
- Be available during standard business hours in any U.S. time zone
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, strong analytical acumen to monitor strategy/execution and optimize ROI
- Organizationally Agile with proven ability to thrive in well-established and matrixed organizations as well as environments with less structure and process
- Ability to zoom appropriately; knowing when to stay at a high level and when to roll up your sleeves and participate in execution of tasks
- Expert knowledge and hands-on expertise in paid search paid social, and digital media planning and buying including ABM, including Google Ads, Bing, Yahoo, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook/Instagram, Terminus, DemandBase, and other third-party ad platforms
- Expert knowledge of programmatic strategies for display, video, social, and/or DSP partners, as well as experience working with external data or media providers
- Proven track record of developing paid media strategies in alignment with client goals, delivering revenue & generating results
- Sound understanding of the online landscape (brand marketing, performance marketing, content, SEO, organic activity, etc.), how the buyer’s journey unfolds, and how paid media can acquire and accelerate prospects through to conversion
- Top-tier client relationship management skills, ability to uplevel the client experience from reporting to account sponsorship to executive-level communication
- Experience working remotely in similar roles preferred
