Position Overview:
Covered Health is seeking an experienced and certified coder with extensive knowledge of eClinicalWorks (eCW) and at least one year of experience in OBGYN coding. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. As a Certified Coder, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of coding for patient encounters, procedures, and services while maximizing reimbursements and supporting our commitment to quality healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
Coding and Compliance:
Review and assign accurate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services in eClinicalWorks, adhering to ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards.
Ensure coding complies with all legal regulations and company policies.
OBGYN Coding Expertise:
Apply specialized knowledge in OBGYN coding, ensuring accurate and comprehensive coding for women’s health services.
Stay updated on the latest coding changes and industry practices related to OBGYN.
Revenue Optimization:
Identify and report potential revenue enhancements, ensuring the organization captures maximum allowable reimbursements.
Support the Revenue Cycle Management team in minimizing claim denials and rejections through accurate and compliant coding practices.
Documentation Review and Collaboration:
Work closely with providers and clinical staff to ensure accurate and thorough documentation for proper coding.
Provide feedback and education on coding and documentation best practices as needed.
Quality Assurance and Audits:
Conduct periodic audits of coded data and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to uphold coding and documentation standards.
Requirements:
Certification:
CPC, CCS, or other recognized medical coding certification.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of coding experience in OBGYN.
Software Proficiency: Extensive experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW).
Knowledge:
Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards and guidelines.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clinical staff and providing coding feedback.
