We are looking for a thoughtful, well-rounded Android engineer to join our team. You will play a leading role in our mobile engineering practice, implementing new features, improving performance, and building accessible, beautiful user interfaces, and building reusable libraries and components. \n- Build and maintain innovative ad formats that enable listeners to experience free music and podcast listening on Spotify.
- Collaborate with a small, autonomous team of engineers (Android, iOS, Desktop), designers, and product managers and data scientists, to experiment and build great ad experiences.
- Implement these solutions for our Android client, adhering to Android development best practices
- Write clear, maintainable code that will scale across several projects and distributed development teams.
- Help your team solve problems in a way that makes sense for Android users and our codebase
- Join dozens of other developers and help to shape the direction of Android development at Spotify
- Become a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team.
- A solid understanding of modern Android development
- Know how to write readable, maintainable, performant object-oriented Java & Kotlin
- Experienced with Android development tools, and are willing to follow defined coding guidelines and practices
- You care about quality and you know what it means to ship high quality code

- You have a high level understanding of end to end systems
- You have released at least one app or have a project in the works that you can tell us about
- You have at least 2+ years of professional Android experience

The United States base range for this position is $122,716 - $175,308, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. These ranges may be modified in the future.
