The role 

The People Business Partner (PBP) will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders and managers, aligning HR strategies with business objectives. The PBP will provide expert advice, guidance, and support in areas such as employee relations, performance management, talent development, and organizational change.

Job Duties – What you’ll be doing
  • Employee Relations. Serve as People liaison for new and current employees to manage and resolve employee matters, ensure compliance with related regulatory and company policies, and maintain core employment lifecycle documentation including onboarding guides and the employee handbook. 
  • Strategic Partnering. Collaborate with the management team and department leaders with organizational design, provide recommendations and support related to people needs. 
  • Performance Management. Own the design and operation of employee performance evaluation and measurement including the development of goals, competencies, and performance review cycles.   
  • Total Rewards. Lead the development of a total rewards framework for employees consistent with the size and stage of the growing business, including compensation and benefits. 
  • Talent. Support talent acquisition, development and retention, including identifying training needs, career development initiatives and leadership programs.
  • HR Operations. Oversee and maintain core human resource operations, including HR information systems including Justworks, Lever and other tools.


Requirements – What we look for in you
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant people operations / HR experience
  • Ability to iteratively develop and execute on people processes and initiatives in an early stage, growth oriented team 
  • Proven experience partnering with clinical and non-clinical leaders to propose business-led but mission-aligned people decisions
  • Data driven mindset, with the ability to communicate effectively using data 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and lead groups to decisions in remote-first environments 
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with continuously evolving priorities
  • Reputation for integrity, confidentiality, dedicated work ethic, and desire for ownership & accountability

Travel Expectations
  • This role would be expected to travel <10% to attend company gatherings, primarily in Chicago
