Browsers are unique in that they are one of the only pieces of software that you share with your parents as well as your kids. Which makes sense, they're our doorway to the most important things ā€” through them we socialize with loved ones, work on our passion projects, and explore our curiosities. But on their own, they donā€™t actually do a whole lot, theyā€™re kind of just there. They donā€™t help us organize our messy lives or make it easier to compose our ideas. We believe that the browser could do so much more ā€” it can empower and support the amazing things we do on the internet. Thatā€™s why weā€™re building one: a browser that can help us grow, create, and stay curious.

About the Role

Put most simply, Arc is a web browser reimagined. Social media is the way we share our vision that better is possible with a growing, passionate fanbase. It allows us to tell the story of the each new iteration of our product, our team, and what we make possible in peopleā€™s lives. As we focus on ambitious growth targets and attracting new members, social media will be crucial to this next chapter.

As The Browser Company's first Social Media Manager, you'll guide our social channels and play a crucial role in our experimentation and learning process as we grow. You'll be responsible for bringing people-first storytelling around both our larger vision and product to our growth channelsā€”Instagram and TikTokā€”in an educational and engaging way. As part of our Marketing team, you'll collaborate closely with Growth, Membership, Browser Company Productions (our video team), and Brand Design. Your primary goal will be to grow our passionate fanbase through inspiring, creative, people-first content. You're an intuitive storyteller who excels at creating engaging, community- and product-centric content across various formats.

Overall you will...

  • Content Creation & Design: We're looking for a self-starter who can conceptualize, develop, produce, and edit engaging content across key channels, with a focus on Instagram and TikTok. You should be a creator at heart who enjoys on-the-ground content creation, including copywriting, photography, graphics, and light video editing.

  • Copy: Youā€™re an excellent writer, comfortable drafting member communications across various formats, including newsletters, tweets, social captions, and more. You can confidently develop brand tone across touchpoints, both short-form and long-form.

  • Collaborate: Youā€™re an expert collaborator, working closely with teams across BCNY. You know how to build strong cross-functional relationships to move quickly and deliver top-tier work. Clear communication is essential, as you will bring ideas to a weekly cross-functional Writerā€™s Room.

  • Community Management: You will communicate with and respond directly to our audience across multiple platforms. You will collaborate with Membership to know when to and when not to respond to DMā€™s, and how to appropriately direct and escalate member issues.

  • Content Calendar Management: You will have a birdā€™s eye view of what is going out when. You will ensure that content makes it across channels for optimal distribution (with an eye towards platform specificity). For instance, translating content from Twitter to Threads.

  • Platform Management: Oversee day-to-day management of channels like Instagram and TikTok including content scheduling, monitoring, engagement.

Qualifications

  • You have 3-7 years of experience in communications and social media with proven experience managing and growing social media accounts, particularly on Instagram and TikTok.

  • You are growth minded and have a proven track record growing a social media following through elevated, quality content.

  • You bring content creation and scrappy design skills to the table. You have experience with creating visual assets (photography, video, motion graphics) and can point to projects where you worked side-by-side with design and content teams to create elevated, arresting work.

  • You understand how to speak like a human being on a brand account. You avoid marketing speak and can connect with everyone from a busy manager to a college freshman on a human level.

  • You can develop and manage a content calendar with multiple social media channels and content pillars. You can experiment, learn and adjust based on metrics and feedback.

  • You deeply understand platform best practices. You do not simply copy and paste content but give deep thought to what resonates in different formats.

  • Bonus if youā€™re local to NYC, love Arc, and have a genuine interest in using social media to build brand love and foster community engagement.

  • Weā€™re primarily focused on hiring in North American time zones and require that folks have 4+ hours of overlap time with team members in Eastern Time Zone.

Compensation and Benefits

šŸ’° With our flexible compensation model, employees have the ability to choose the cash-to-equity ratio that best suits their individual needs. Every offer we extend includes three options: a salary-optimized offer, an equity-optimized offer, and a balanced offer.

The annual salary range for this role is $130,000-160,000. The actual salary range offered will vary based on experience level and interview performance.

šŸ§˜šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø In addition to a competitive salary and equity package, we provide every employee with the following benefits:

  • comprehensive benefits package with employee medical, dental, and vision. We cover 100% of premiums for employees, and up to 95% for dependents

  • 401k plan

  • flexible vacation policy - on average, our team members take between 15-20 vacation days a year, plus federal holidays (holidays vary by location)

  • remote-friendly working environment - our core working hours are 11 AM-2 PM Eastern Time

  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave

  • $1,500 USD home office stipend, refreshed after 2 years

  • Employees based in the US also receive additional services like free annual memberships to One Medical (where available), Talkspace, Teladoc, and HealthAdvocate
