At Timescale, we empower businesses with real-time insights from their data, allowing them to make faster decisions and optimize operations. We are creating a movement to unblock developers who are building the future. Timescale is a product-led growth organization driven by transparent leaders and a globally diverse, remote-first team that is proudly building a modern PostgreSQL cloud platform.
We are seeking a skilled software engineer to join our team focused on building and maintaining Timescale's billing, pricing, and packaging software solutions. As part of our close-knit, all-remote team, you will have the opportunity to work on critical services that power our managed TimescaleDB cloud offerings.
This is a full-time position, with a preference for candidates in Europe or East Coast North American time zones.
What you will be responsible for:
Ownership of features and services from inception through deployment and ongoing production support
Design, develop, and maintain Golang-based services, with a strong emphasis on enabling business software solutions.
You could be a great fit if:
Have 2+ years of software engineering experience in production environments.
Strong programming skills, particularly in Go and Python, with a focus on solid software engineering fundamentals.
Experience working on enterprise-level billing, finance, or other business-critical software.
Proficiency in event-driven architecture and modern API technologies such as gRPC and GraphQL.
Detail-oriented and a strong commitment to testing and quality assurance.
Comfortable developing in Linux environments and working with containerized applications.
Nice to haves:
Experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes environments, including developing Kubernetes operators/controllers.
Deep knowledge of at least one major cloud provider, with a preference for AWS.
Familiarity with RBAC and ACLs is a plus.
You might not be a great fit if:
You are uncomfortable with a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly.
You prefer a highly structured role with clearly defined tasks and responsibilities.
You are not a self-starter who thrives on taking initiative and ownership.
Our Commitment:
We will respond to all applicants
We strive to review all applications fairly, without bias, and shortlist based on relevant skills and experience.
All active candidates will be informed of what is happening next in the process.
