Upwork’s Analytics & Data Science Team is seeking an independent, self-motivated analytics leader to join our dynamic environment. This pivotal role involves partnering with our marketplace and emerging business product teams to guide strategy and drive pivotal business decisions. As the Senior Manager of Marketplace Analytics, you will lead an analytics team, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to identify pathways to growth by better serving our extensive user base. Together, you will craft the next evolution of Upwork.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product leadership to produce insights from new product launches and your understanding of existing marketplace dynamics. Your insights will drive strategic decisions for our emerging business, as well as our mobile and messaging teams.
- Guide a team of 4-5 analysts, ensuring effective collaboration and prioritization across different product pods and within Analytics & Data Science. Empower your team to focus on the most impactful projects, driving high-quality outcomes.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to both junior and senior analysts. Your guidance will unlock their full potential and facilitate continuous personal growth.
- Act as a leader within the marketplace analytics team. Identify opportunities for new tools and processes that enhance the team's efficiency and effectiveness.
- Tackle challenging analytics problems alongside analysts, data scientists, and economist
What it Takes to Catch our Eye:
- A degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience managing and leading a high-impact analytics team.
- The ability to manage complex analytics projects from conception to conclusion, including problem statement formulation, hypothesis generation, data analysis, modeling, and final presentation.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and script scheduling tools. Familiarity with A/B testing and statistical methods is essential.
- Previous experience in a two-sided e-commerce marketplace will be highly regarded.
The annual base salary for this position in California and Washington ranges from $158,250 - $200,000 The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
