As a Senior Director of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for identifying key strategic initiatives and leading multiple teams to deliver results consistently and sustainably. You’ll develop high-performing organizations with kind and talented engineers and cultivate a healthy, results-driven culture.

What you’ll do as a Senior Director of Engineering at Vanta:

  • Independently identify and realize strategies that deliver significant value to our customers and business.

  • Hold a high bar for execution and quality, and lead your organization to deliver results consistently and sustainably.

  • Guide technical strategy, ensuring that your teams are delivering long-term value aligned with Vanta’s business priorities.

  • Partner closely with your respective Design, Product and GTM counterparts to build best in class products and bring them to market. 

  • Build a best-in-class engineering team. Coach, mentor and create an environment where your team can do their best work and deliver for the business. 

  • Play an integral role in influencing and shaping Vanta’s engineering culture and strategy

How to be successful in this role:

  • 7+ years of engineering leadership experience, with deep experience working on complex products in a high growth environment

  • Passion for leading, coaching and building an inspired team through setting vision, unlocking potential, and driving compassionate accountability

  • Strong decision maker who effectively balances ambiguity, available data, speed, and iteration

  • Effective communicator. Able to influence cross functional stakeholders and at all levels

  • Operates at multiple altitudes, from developing vision and strategy to driving execution

  • Previous startup experience, or worked in an environment that prioritizes a bias for action

  • Strong interest in learning about security. Prior experience in the space a bonus

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The base pay range for this position is $322,000 - $379,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
