We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Data Team. This team is at the heart of Verisys and its databases will soon be involved in the majority of transactions processed through our system. At this point in time we are looking to generate matching algorithms at the data element level to ensure we have created appropriate connectors across our data.
We are looking for a strong data and research scientist to help build the next generation of our core matching and connector logic at Verisys.
You'll be working closely with software engineers and product managers to create and execute the direction of the product development. This includes crafting a machine learning or data science solution to achieve a business goal, guiding the team's direction through data-driven insights and algorithmic thinking, and providing team members with feedback on their work.
What You'll Do:
* Provide analysis using mathematical modeling tools to improve business processes and decisions.
*Mine data from multiple sources and apply your knowledge in data cleansing and scrubbing to improve the quality and usability of Verisys' data in our applications
*Develop predictive models and analyses to help our systems make effective matches across multiple sources
*Identify the appropriate tools to get jobs done with maximum efficiency
* Define creative solutions to business problems using advanced mathematical algorithms.
* Partner closely with engineering, operations, business, and infrastructure groups.
*Develop ways to continuously monitor and analyze the quality of data across stages of our data pipelines.
What You'll Need:
* Bachelor's degree or higher - degree in Computer Science, Data Science or other quantitative discipline preferred
*Strong technical background in data science, statistics, mathematics and/or computer science
*Experience in development and deploying predictive models and creating data-driven solutions.
*Strong understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms
* Ability to drive clarity on the best modeling or analytic solution for a business objective.
* Experience driving research and development.
* Experience communicating with both technical and business people. Ability to speak at a level appropriate for the audience.
*Strong knowledge of data structures, data sources, and data engineering tools and techniques
*1 to 3 years experience with SQL
*2+ years of experience in data analytics, with a focus on customer analytics and predictive modeling
Nice to Have Skills:
*M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, or other quantitative discipline
*Healthcare experience
*Experience in implementing matching algorithms for names and addresses
*Experience with visualization tools
*Leading a project at a past job, from ideation to implementation
* Machine learning/statistical modeling, data analytics and experimentation skills.
