VetsEZ is seeking a remote Rules Engineer Manager to lead the development and implementation of business rules engines for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will manage a team of rules engineers, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable rules-based systems. Responsibilities: Lead a team of rules engineers in designing, developing, and implementing business rules systems.Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and align solutions with organizational goals and compliance standards.Oversee the creation, maintenance, and optimization of business rules using platforms like Drools, IBM ODM, or similar tools.Establish and enforce best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes.Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and support professional development.Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of rules engine solutions.Manage project plans, timelines, and team deliverables to meet deadlines.Participate in Agile processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.Document technical solutions and provide training for end-users and stakeholders. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience.5+ years of experience in rules engine development, including 2+ years in a leadership role.Certification in business rules management systems or project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master).Expertise in BRMS platforms such as Drools, IBM ODM, or Red Hat Decision Manager.Proficiency in Java, Python, or other relevant programming languages.Strong understanding of SQL and database technologies, including data modeling.Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.Excellent problem-solving skills focused on scalable, maintainable solutions.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders. Additional Qualifications: Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development.Familiarity with VA environment is a plus.Ability to obtain a government clearance.Azure Certified Cloud Practitioner or any related certification.
