As an Accounting Manager, you will be an integral part of our accounting team. You will help manage the company’s accounting and financial reporting function, with an emphasis on technical accounting. You will have the opportunity to shape and leave your mark on company processes that are instrumental to the successful growth and scalability of Virta Health.
Responsibilities
Develop procedures, guidelines and internal controls for complex accounting transactions and play a leading role in process improvements around technical accounting and financial reporting to scale with Virta’s growth
Research and prepare periodic financial reports and technical accounting memos in conformity with US GAAP and any other applicable financial reporting standards
Liaise with Strategic Finance and other business partners to provide analysis and insights to historical transactions as well as impact of transactions on forward looking results
Preparation and review of account reconciliations, journal entries and analysis of results
Assist with the Company’s annual financial statement audit
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government requirements
Perform other ad hoc projects and strategic analyses, as directed
90 Day Plan
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
Gain an understanding of Virta Health’s chart of accounts and financial reporting structure
Understand Virta Health’s month-end close process and begin to take ownership of preparation and review of specified areas of month-end close
Establish strong working relationships with other departments and become a point of contact/representative from the accounting function to other teams
Provide observations and recommendations for areas to begin with for process improvements and scalability
Must-Haves
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
6+ years of experience, CPA preferred
Public company reporting experience required
Healthtech experience preferred
In-depth understand of US GAAP
Ability to proactively and creatively approach problem solving in order to execute multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy
Excellent critical thinking skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
