Insights & Analytics Intern

The Insights & Analytics team is integral in leveraging data to inform strategic decisions across the company, impacting all areas of the business. We collaborate closely with engineering, product development, customer success, finance, and marketing, transforming data into actionable insights to support Virta's mission.
Role Overview
As an Insights & Analytics Intern, you will work closely with the team on projects including healthcare claims data management & analysis, data visualization, and developing/enhancing data pipelines. You will get a chance to develop new skills relevant to your field of study, build relationships with industry professionals, and present your work to the company.

Responsibilities
Map external data sources to our systems, ensuring high-quality data is consistently available for analysts and end-users, enhancing decision-making and reporting accuracy.
Contribute to data modeling and integrity checks, ensuring the reliability of our data insights.
Engage in data analysis and visualization, creating impactful reports and dashboards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision making.
Qualifications
Currently studying Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Health Informatics, Actuarial science, or similar.
Intermediate SQL skills including aggregations, joins, and case statements. Experience with CTEs and window functions are a plus
Basic understanding of data visualization principles potentially with tools like Looker or Tableau
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Eagerness to learn new tools and technologies
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate findings clearly
