Weight loss drugs, nutrition, and health/wellness are some of the leading topics driving consumer, business, and pop culture conversations. Much of the discussion is generated by and evolving on social media channels, creating a massive opportunity for Virta to participate in and lead the conversation.
We’re looking for a Social Media Manager who is passionate about telling the transformative story of Virta’s lifestyle and nutrition-driven health outcomes to a broader audience. This role will report into Virta’s VP and Head of Communications and work closely with the Executive Team and leaders across the organization to build a fun, engaging, and informative social presence that will ultimately serve to elevate visibility and excitement about the brand.

Responsibilities
Build and execute a social media strategy that supports Virta’s goal of being a credible alternative to GLP-1s across corporate channels including Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube
Elevate Virta’s visibility and engagement with members, potential members, and the broader public by creating educational, inspirational, and engaging content, establishing our POV on relevant topics, and building a supportive community
Review and build social media strategy that supports Virta CEO across channels including LinkedIn and X
Manage, develop, and execute social media content strategy, content development, and calendar, collaborating cross-functionally to support company milestones, generate new ideas, and develop stories
Work closely with design team to project manage social media assets and ensure adherence with brand guidelines
Refine and bring to life Virta’s brand and our persona by assisting in live marketing activations around the country, managing participating members, and collecting content to share across owned channels
Create quarterly OKRs and measure campaign ROI, utilizing data across platforms to make informed strategic or tactical recommendations
90 Day Plan
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
Connect with and establish strong relationships across company
Get to know Virta’s treatment, outcomes, and data
Review Virta’s existing social media strategy and content and develop your perspective
Learn the key functions / teams across the organization and begin to identify potential spokespeople and assets to leverage
Formulate appropriate engagement and growth metrics for social channels
Jump in head-first (i.e. start to create content, contribute to conversations in the space, engage with the community)
Must-Haves
4+ years of professional experience in social media
Experience shaping a consumer-facing brand through engaging content, a compelling tone of voice, and visual storytelling
Ability to ideate, create, and edit visual stories quickly, jumping on memes of the day to drive brand engagement
Knowledge of graphic design, video editing, and making short video content, writing copy and coming up with hashtags
Your finger is on the pulse of viral trends and all things social media
Driven, highly motivated, and excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
