Job Description
Overview:
The Data Manager is a strategically important role that is crucial in enabling our business growth. The role will be responsible for managing a team of data analysts, building and maintaining reporting, improving ops processes and increasing automation across the Payment and Treasury Ops function.
This is a UK remote position.
The details:
- Manage a team of data analysts, enabling their professional growth and guiding the delivery of workstreams.
- Collaborate closely with product teams, providing data insights and support to enable the release of new products, and the delivery of the broader business growth strategy.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance and/or automate existing reporting and processes to fit with evolving business needs.
- Enable and improve regulatory processes associated with the reconciliation of data from a range of internal and external data sources.
- Develop and execute data strategies that increase the quality and utility of our internal data.
- Present data to stakeholders & management in a clear and easy to comprehend manner, by using the appropriate visualisation tools.
- Work with stakeholders to scope & prioritise ad hoc and strategic data requests.
- Go beyond delivering data, delivering insights, and answering the why and the so what.
- Project manage multiple data, operations, systems and process work streams simultaneously.
- Generate own workload to further departmental objectives.
Qualifications
- 5 years experience in data analysis role, with experience managing analysts either formally or informally.
- Excellent SQL & Excel proficiency.
- Excellent proficiency with data visualisation tools like Tableau or similar.
- Deep understanding of existing data sets and ability to understand new data quickly.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to generate accurate output, with logical and clear workbooks that can be readily handed over.
- Excellent team working skills, ability to manage own workload and manage own priorities.
- Ability to deliver against time pressured deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Confidence contributing in a group environment when both the expert and the amateur.
- Interest in the payments, financial services, technology or FX industry.
- Experience in financial services / tech not mandatory but preferred.
