We are looking for an AP/AR specialist to be part of a growing finance team that is building a world-class financial infrastructure from the ground up, and providing a backbone to cross-functionally support the company’s expansion.
As an early hire, you’ll also have outsized influence in defining the company’s culture and ensuring mission success. This is a remote role, with occasional travel.
What You’ll Do:
Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including purchase order generation, invoice processing, approvals, and payments
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address AP-related inquiries, and develop strong vendor relationships, resolving any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner
Lead the accounts receivable function, overseeing billing, collections, and cash application processes
Monitor AR aging reports and implement strategies to minimize outstanding balances and improve cash flow
Record and monitor requisite finance data in company database/reporting tools accurately and in a timely manner to support monthly close, internal reporting, and audit compliance
Implement and integrate various financial systems and tools to automate AP and AR workflows
Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly expense reports for review with upper management
Manage relationships with external auditors and other parties supporting technical accounting matters
Help design, review, and ensure the application of appropriate internal controls, and financial procedures
Qualifications:
3-5 years accounting AP/AR experience
Early-stage startup experience, with the ability to wear multiple hats
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office suite
Experience in implementing software tools and systems across the financial tech stack
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
An owner’s mindset, with intellectual curiosity and customer obsession
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Nice to have:
Experience working at a cloud service provider, with strong familiarity with hardware and software accounting (IaaS/SaaS)
Supply chain management or procurement experience for IT hardware / infrastructure companies
Experience in managing relationships with external auditors
CPA certification
Public accounting experience at a major accounting firm
