Voltage Park is building a machine learning cloud infrastructure business from the ground up. As part of this effort, we’re looking for a Linux Support Engineer to join our small team, who will resolve technical issues for our customers. This role is ideal for an experienced support professional who is looking to develop professionally in Technical Support, Systems Reliability Engineering, or even Solutions Engineering.
This is a fully remote role, but you must be able to work in PST or HST in the United States. We are not able to provide sponsorship for this position. Some travel to our data centers and company offsites will be required.
What You’ll Do
Solve escalated technical issues with customers via email and the occasional phone or video calls
Collaborate closely with Success, Product, Engineering and other teams to resolve issues for our customers
Work with Voltage Park product and engineering to develop content and features that empower Voltage Park customers to resolve their own issues
Identify and implement improvements to the Voltage Park customer experience
Juggle multiple responsibilities across different support functions
Manage high-impact cross-functional projects
Be on-call for urgent system incidents
Requirements
4+ years in a Support Engineering or customer success role at a technical organization
Scripting experience using Bash, Python, or Go
Based in West Coast or Hawaii
Excellent verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to write clearly and effectively
Attention to detail – you sweat the small stuff
Ability to empathize with customers
Experience architecting, building, and delivering complex technical or non-technical systems from 0 to 1
What We’d Love to See
Experience in one or more of the following:
Experience setting up and administering SLURM/Kubernetes
Command line level sys administration experience
Data center support experience
Project management experience
Startup experience
