Role Objectives:
The Financial Accountant at WEP will oversee day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring VAT and tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This role plays a key part in supporting critical financial processes, from daily transactions to year-end reporting, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement. The primary objective is to uphold financial integrity and contribute to WEP's fiscal health through diligent accounting practices and strict regulatory adherence.

- Oversee company accounts, ensuring compliance with local and international financial regulations, GAAP, and internal policies
- Manage VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions (UK, Ireland, Germany), including cross-border transactions and reverse charge mechanisms
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, VIES reports, and Intrastat reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Support preparation of entity-level monthly financial statements for consolidation, including variance analysis against budget and forecast
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and prepayments
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls, improving financial processes and systems
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany reconciliation and foreign currency revaluations.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, analyzing trends to support strategic decisions
- Collaborate with HR to manage payroll processing, including benefits, bonuses, and pension contributions
- Support end-of-year accounting functions, including audit preparation and statutory reporting, and deputize for Senior Financial Accountant when needed
- Newly qualified or nearly qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
- Some experience with payroll, VAT, and Intrastat reporting
- Proficient in Xero accounting, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or similar systems
- Strong computer literacy, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
