The Role
We’re looking for an Associate Director to join our growing Amazon and Marketplace team. You’ll be the main client lead for a growing book of enterprise-level clients, and overseeing a team of retail media experts that run paid search and display campaigns across retail media networks like Amazon, Walmart, Target and Criteo. Your complex portfolio will consist of fast-paced and high-growth clients that will constantly challenge you, and you’ll be given the opportunity to work with some of our fastest-growing brands. You’ll be trusted to oversee all account activity, collaborate with managers from other channels, and come up with campaign strategies for your book of clients.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $95,000 - $120,000, based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and the respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. At Wpromote, pay ranges are subject to change and are based on specific market medians for similar jobs according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary due to skills, experience, and available budget. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above) and an annual performance bonus.
This role has an associated annual target bonus component which is paid out based on a number of factors which include Company performance, department performance, and individual performance. Bonuses are not guaranteed and you must be an active employee in good standing and not on a Performance Improvement Plan to be eligible for the annual bonus.

\n- Acting as the main retail media agency strategy lead for a growing book of enterprise-level clients
- Responsible for paid and display advertising spend across multiple retail media networks
- Proactively communicating with clients about account health, ad performance, sales, best practices, developing action plans to improve results
- Consulting clients on growth opportunities, expanded partnerships, and launching into new marketplaces
- Leading a team of 1-4 retail media managers
- Closely overseeing and facilitating the onboarding of new accounts that fall under direct reports and subsequently support growth and retention across accounts
- Interfacing with direct reports’ clients to collect feedback, articulate value, present strategy and strengthen the relationship
- Supporting adoption of strategic initiatives in their account portfolio and directly supporting growth and retention
- Providing bi-annual performance reviews and customized professional development plans for direct reports
- Training retail media managers on all retail media fundamentals, including media planning, campaign building & optimizing, reporting, platform nuances, and data processing & analysis
- Coaching direct reports on foundational skills, including clear communication, expectation setting, rapport building, active listening and conflict de-escalation
- Supporting the training of new hires within your team of direct reports on multiple levels including specialist, associate manager and managers
- Owning relationships with account executives across Amazon and Walmart
- Providing clients with guidance and best practices for Product Detail Page and Brand Store content and/or with internal or external creative teams to develop net-new creative and content
- Consulting with client on promotional strategy
- Leveraging 3rd party retail media tools
- Maintaining sufficient knowledge of core digital marketing channels, including social media, SEO, content marketing, email marketing and programmatic and their relationship to retail media
- Working on cross-channel collaboration between social media, influencer, creative, media strategy, and client service teams
- Assisting sales team on audits, decks and pitches for prospective paid search clients
- Report to the Head of the Department and support key department pillars such as same store growth, retention, new business and partnerships
- Identify critical client/account issues and escalate them to appropriate executives in timely manner
- 4-6 years of experience working in retail media advertising comprising of media planning/buying within an agency/client environment
- Experience managing annual budgets over $2m
- Minimum of 2 years prior staff management with development and mentoring experience
- Extensive experience developing, optimizing, analyzing, and reporting on paid campaigns on Retail Media platforms (Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Roundel, Criteo, Instacart, etc)
- Hands-on experience with Amazon DSP
- Experience with 3rd party retail media tools (i.e. Pacvue, Skai, CommerceIQ or Perpetua)
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and respond to situations quickly
- Extremely well organized, able to balance client timelines and business needs, across multiple clients
- Work comfortably in dynamic, time-intensive environments where competing priorities are commonplace
- Ability to manage client expectations and priorities
- Ability to interact directly and speak with informed confidence to business leaders and c-level personnel both internally & externally
- Understanding of overall profitability on Amazon (seller categories, fulfillment methods, fees, etc.)
- An understanding and experience with optimizing product detail pages including titles, key features, and A+ content
- Working experience of Vendor and Seller Central along with an understanding of Amazon account operations, logistics, and the fees that may be associated with them
- Bachelor’s degree
